I bet everyone thought the next time we would re-activate this bad boy would be when we were pregnant.

So sorry, mom.

We are set to embark on a bit of a journey. What permits a young couple to take a 5 month hiatus from their life in Boston and travel around the U.S. and then on to Oaxaca, Mexico and Peru? Wit, sheer good looks and mad privilege? Among other things.... Rory's start date as a lawyer isn't until January, hopefully a week or so after a good snowfall. It also seemed like a good time for me to get a little perspective on my career and apply to graduate programs in education.

The basic itinerary
  • August: road trip as far west as Vegas, then loop back around to Texas
  • September - November: live it up in Mexico (way south of the border and avoiding all violence and drugs)
  • December: Visit Peru and be stateside in time for Christmas
We'll try to keep everyone informed of our travels via this blog. No promises on the follow through, but we're feeling extra motivated right now.

No Really, Check out this Map

It is awesome.

So proud...

A useful map of Madison, as created by Erica

Hotel Information

We have some hotel blocks that we wanted to let you all know about. All rooms are reserved under the name Foster Ramberg Wedding Block or Ramberg Foster Wedding Block. The rooms are for Friday or Saturday arrivals. We have the blocks until July 8th so please make your reservations by then.

A - The Inn on the Park is right next to the Wisconsin capitol, at the top of State St, and is a bit nicer. Also, our friend Alice works there and she says, "tell everyone to stay at my hotel" - so stay here. 608-285-8000 or http://www.innonthepark.net/index.asp

B - The University Inn is in the middle of State St, wedged between the bars and shops and private college dorms - it is cheaper than the other spot. 800-279-4881 or http://www.universityinn.org/main.html

C - Best Western Inntowner is removed from downtown, close to lake Mendota. (608-233-8778)

All of these are centrally located to the weekends festivities - long walks maybe, but totally doable. You will find cheaper deals, we are sure, around town. It just might mean a little more hassle getting around. Hopefully the map can help....

Party Time

Here's the save-the-date for the August, 9th celebration. In order to send the image in the email version of the save-the-date we had to upload it to a website. Really this post is nothing more than that. If you read the text you will see it says pretty much the same thing as our first post....

The "Double" Knot

As most of you know, we tied the first knot on August 25th, 2007 in the Boston Public Gardens with only our immediate family in attendance. We wanted to be able to celebrate our commitment in an intimate way, and frankly, just couldn't wait as long as it would have taken us to plan a bigger shindig.

That said, it doesn't feel complete without all of you. It is and will be so important to us to have your love and support throughout our marriage. So we are excited to invite you to see us tie the "double" knot in Madison, WI on August 9th, 2008 at Vilas Park. For us, this is not just a celebration of our marriage, but an opportunity to acknowledge the impact that you have on our lives. It won't be anything fancy, just a relaxing day outside with all our friends and family. And, yes, lots of food and drink.
